Free Early Education : 3 – 4 Year Old Funding

15 Hours Funding

The term after their third birthday, all children can access up to 15 funded hours per week under the 3-4 Year Old Free Place Scheme. There is a maximum of 3 funded hours per half session and 6 funded hours per day. We also offer limited free sessions. Terms and conditions apply.

Please speak with the manager or a member of staff for availability. You will need to complete a Parent Declaration form to sign every term, which we will give you at the appropriate time.

30 Hours Funding

You may also be eligible for an additional 15 hours childcare if you meet the criteria (please see our website – oeyc.herts.sch.uk). There is a maximum of 6 funded hours per day. We can only offer the full 30 hours in the Orange Room if your child is already doing 30 hours in the previous term as it is unlikely we will have availability to increase days. However, you do not have to use the whole 30 hours eg. if your child does 3 days per week with us you would use 18 funded hours.

Please note that spaces are subject to availability.

Stretched 30 Hours Funding

It may be possible to stretch the 30 hour funding across the year into the school holidays (8.00am -6.00pm sessions only). Please ask in the office if you need further information. Terms and conditions apply.

Free Early Education : 2 Year Funding

Some children are entitled to 2 year old funding from the term after their second birthday; if they meet certain criteria (see below).

You should receive a letter from Herts County Council if you are likely to be eligible and there is an online eligibility checker on hertsdirect.org.uk . If you need further information or assistance with this please enquire at your local children’s centre or ask for help at the OEYC office. If you are eligible you will be given a unique reference number that you will need to give to the office in order to access the funding. You will need to complete a Parent Declaration form which must be signed every term. We will give you this at the appropriate time.

There is a maximum of 3 funded hours per half session and 6 funded hours per day. We also offer limited free sessions. Terms and conditions apply.

Please note that spaces are subject to availability and are in line with our Daycare Admissions Policy.  Spaces are limited and at the discretion of the Directors.

2 year funding eligibility does not guarantee you a place but we will do our best to accommodate your child.
